The Hino-Crimson Azalea is a stunning hardy azalea which thrives in cold climates! The profusion of single, crimson blooms appear early and continue through spring. Position in partial shade to partial sun. It needs regular watering, weekly, or more often in extreme heat. It is a moderate growing plant that reaches 2 to 4 ft tall and 3 to 5 fee wide. It has red showy flowers that bloom in mid spring.
Provide acidic, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Best in an east or north exposure, protected from harsh sun. Follow a regular schedule of deep waterings during first growing season to establish an extensive root system. Feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom.
