The Sugar Puff Rhododendron is a semi-dwarf small leaf rhododendron with tan buds that open to cotton candy blooms. Blooms have a pink edge with a white center. Prolific bloomer, dense, mounded form with bronze-green leaves. It also has colorful bold red stems that will brighten the winter landscape.
It does best in partial sun and needs regular watering, weekly, or more often in extreme heat. It is a moderate grower, 3 feet tall and wide. The beautiful white flowers bloom in Spring and they work well in hedges or woodland garden cover.
Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Provide well drained soil, rich in organic matter. Feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom. Keep roots cool with a thick layer of mulch.
