The Virginia Richards Rhododendron is a small compact evergreen shrub, highly valued for its large trusses of showy pink and apricot tinted flowers – it has a beautiful contrast to the dark green leaves. It Prefers cooler regions and is used as a very effective accent to any garden.
This Spring flowering rhododendron loves partial sun and needs regular watering, weekly, or more often in extreme heat. It is a slow growing shrub and will reach about 4ft tal and wide. Use it in a border, hedge or as a beautiful accent to a woodland garden.
Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. Provide well drained soil, rich in organic matter. Feed with an acid fertilizer after bloom. Keep roots cool with a thick layer of mulch. Pruning time: spring after flowering.
